Denim projects

I am not really active on my blog, but there are some of the projects i made in the last few days i want to share with you.
I used my old denim pants to make this little bag.
I also made a skirt for my little princess. It looks much better on her than in the picture.

And i also tried to make a skinny jeans for her.I put a piece of cotton fabric on the sides,to avoid zipper. She says they're comfy, but in the picture they look a little bit weird, like the back is lower than the front(probably because an elastic in the back).

And i finished third semester on college,i'm on a brake for a month, that means there are a lot of new projects coming soon :).

Homemade play dough

Recently,I found some recipes for homemade play dough.I tried no cook play dough recipe with salt, flour and few more ingredients but it was terrible.THIS ONE looked a little bit easier to make,so I decided to try. This playdough is so soft,Lea and I played for hours. So fun!

After we finished playing,I packed it in the plastic bag and put away in the refrigerator,so we can use it again. The best thing about this play dough is that is really easy to clean it if it ends up in your carpet. And it always does. Now I only need to find a good food coloring to make it even more fun this creative kid :).

Sleeve ironing board cover

Few months ago I started making ad selling crib bedding,so I was making bias tape really often.I wanted to have some small ironing board and I found this one for cheap:
Fabric didn't look good and I always burn fabric when I use iron so I wanted somenthing dark.I used navy blue cotton to make new cover.I removed old fabric and put a new one.

That's it.Nothing special, but it really made bias tape making process much easier than it was before.

Stroller canopy tutorial

Remember THIS post?I promised that I will show You how to recover stroller canopy.I couldn't do it earlier, but better late than never ;).
So,this was a custom order,so I am not using my stroller canopy.Anyway,it is easy and if You know how to sew straight line,You can do it,there is no need to purchase universal solid colors stroller canopy, when You can make Your own,in any print You can imagine.
Let's start...
This is what customer brought me:
It wasn't looking good.
She wanted something cheerful and red. So,we decided to use red cotton for the front and red printed cotton for the back part of the canopy.First,I measured how much fabric I need for the front.

If Your stroller canopy is even a little bit complicated, try to take as much photos as You can,so You can easier put it together when You're done sewing.
I don't have photos, because this canopy was really simple.
I removed the whole canopy from the stroller frame.
Then these metal rods...
I placed canopy on the piece of fabric I wanted to use
Then I cut piece for the smaller part of the canopy, and then for the bigger part, but I left 2cm on the bottom (for both parts),so I can sew them together.
I placed smaller piece in the center of the bigger fabric piece and sewn them together.
So this is what I had:
Then I placed canopy, pinned all the way around and cut shape.
Same thing for this front part:
I also had to make tubes for metal rods and put velcro on some parts.I made little window...And of course,I sewn bias tape all over the canopy.

Let me know what do You think :)
